January Meeting Announcement

Happy New Year! Last month’s Christmas Party was a real success! A wonderful time was had by all. Thanks to all those who helped put it together and all those that attended.

This month’s meeting is January 19th at Pasta Pelican Restaurant behind the Tube in Alameda. Our program this month will be presented by Commander Gregory Stanclik, USCG Icebreaker, Buoy and Construction Tender Product Line Manager, who will provide an overview of the CG Polar program and the challenges they face in maintaining the Icebreakers Polar Star & Polar Sea, veterans of some very difficult service conditions. This promises to be a very interesting program; don’t miss it!

Dinner will be buffet style featuring, chicken, salmon, steak, potatoes, vegetables, salad, pasta, and dessert. Social Hour begins at 6:00 P.M. and dinner at 7:00 P.M. Board of Governor’s Meeting to start a 5:00 P.M. Cost is $40.00 per person.

Call Carol Dutra, at 510-917-1498, or e-mail Carol at sfpenews@yahoo.com no later than MONDAY, January    16th, with your reservations. Remember to keep our costs of the dinners down we need an accurate count of people so please don’t overlook this, especially if you are bringing guests.  Don’t forget, if you bring in a new dues paying member, you get a complimentary dinner.  We look forward to seeing all of you there.

The Society of Port Engineers scheduled meetings and programs for 2012:

The Society is encouraging everyone to receive the SFPE monthly meeting notices and other news via email.  Please assist us with providing your current email address by forwarding it to:  sfpenews@yahoo.com.  Thank you.”
